Richmond Community Orchestra Information and Updates

Frost Advisory (until 6 hours from now)

According to their website, the Richmond Community Orchestra's mission is "to encourage lifelong musicianship and appreciation of orchestral music in Richmond, Indiana, and the surrounding area through regular practice and performance." The organization was founded as a not-for-profit in 2008 and is supported by members, residents and friends from around the community.

The RCO focuses on an eclectic mix of classical music along with lesser known works, and has an emphasis on playing music by American composers and pieces that reflect Richmond's jazz heritage.

The RCO website notes that membership in the orchestra is free, and is open to musicians of all ages. The orchestra usually performs at least five free concerts a year, and occasionally performs extra concerts for special events or local organizations.
